Houdini Swap, Made Stronger Than Before
It has come to a point that attacks have become the norm, and surviving them has become the exception.
Cybersecurity has become the top priority of every crypto project. This is because as technology progresses, the tactics and sophistication of malicious actors lurking and waiting for your every move have also progressed.
Houdini Swap was not an exception.
On March 11 at around 4 am UTC, Houdini Swap experienced a security incident that our support team promptly detected and addressed. The incident was triggered by a #Phishing attack reported by a user who had a stuck swap. Our support team investigated the issue and discovered that there was an anomaly going on. To mitigate the risk, we put the website into Maintenance Mode and worked to fix the issue.
Despite the incident, Houdini Swap’s security measures effectively limited the damage caused by the attack. With this, only one user’s transaction was affected, and we refunded it without any problem. Our relationships with Binance and other exchanges have proven to be helpful because we already had a trace of the perpetrator which will be sent to authorities.
Houdini Swap values transparency and believes that informing users about security incidents is important, even if it’s not an easy decision. The platform is committed to preventing such incidents from happening again and has taken additional measures to enhance its security system. Rest assured, this incident will not happen again. This incident has only made Houdini Swap’s security system even more impenetrable.
